Moongre are radish pods. They look like tender beans and quite frankly, for the longest time I thought they were beans till I found this recipe online. You generally get this veggie only in the winters. I very reluctantly brought this veggie as I do not prefer the raw smell of radish. But trust me, the result of this recipe is yum!
Prep Time: 30 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
1 cup Radish pods
2 Potatoes
Salt, to taste
2 tsps Chilli powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Turmeric powder
2 tbsp Oil
Instructions
Remove the ends of the radish pods and keep aside
Cut potatoes into big cubes
In a pan take oil and add the potatoes and sauté till it becomes ¼ cooked
Wash the radish pods under running water 3-4 times. Use it as is and do not cut it
Add the radish to the potatoes with turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder and coriander powder and cover and cook till done
Serve hot with rotis
Notes
I did not add much spices as I wanted the aroma of the radish pods to be intact.
