Aloo Palak Tikki Chaat

This is a very tasty chaat. It is a combo of dahi chaat and shallow fried tikkis. These tikkis are served with sweetened yogurt and seasoned.

Ingredients

For the tikkis

  • 1/2 bunch Palak leaves

  • 1 big Boiled potatoes

  • to taste Salt

  • 1 tsp Chilli powder

  • 4 tbsp Corn flour

  • 3 tbsp Besan

  • for shallow frying Oil

For the chaat

  • Cumin powder, to sprinkle

  • Chaat masala, to sprinkle

  • Yogurt, as needed to top the tikkis

  • Sugar, as needed

  • Finely chopped onions (optional), to garnish

  • Sev, to garnish

  • Finely chopped coriander leaves, to garnish

Instructions

For the tikkis

  1. Blanch the palak leaves by boiling them and then soaking them in cold water

  2. Chop the leaves finely and put it in a mixing bowl

  3. Add the boiled potatoes and mash both well

  4. Add salt, chilli powder, and mix well

  5. Add the corn flour and besan and mix well

  6. Make small tikkis and cook them in a pan drizzled with little oil

For the chaat

  1. Add as much sugar to the beaten yogurt (it should be sweet)

  2. Arrange the tikkis in a tray and add the beaten yogurt mixed with sugar

  3. Sprinkle chaat masala and cumin powder on top (you can add chilli powder as well)

  4. Garnish with chopped onions, sev and coriander leaves

Notes

  • I do not use onions as I do not prefer raw onions on chaat which has yogurt

  • You can use any seasoning of your choice
