This is exactly like rice modaks made of rice rawa, but in this recipe we use broken wheat. Definitely healthy, very filling and can be had for breakfast or dinner. This is usually served with a chutney.

Ingredients
1 cup Broken wheat
3 tbsp Chana dal
4 Red chillies
3-4 Curry leaves
1/4 cup Fresh grated coconut
Salt, to taste
2 cups Water
For tempering
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tsp Chana dal
Instructions
Soak chana dal, red chillies for half an hour, grind it along with curry leaves into a fine paste
Saute broken wheat till you get a nice aroma and it becomes light pink, keep aside
In a pan take ghee and splutter mustard seeds, chana dal and urad dal till it becomes light pink
Add the broken wheat and chana dal paste, saute for 2 minutes
Add coconut and hot water and bring to a boil, add salt
Cook the mixture
Cool it and make small balls out of it and steam it
Serve hot with coconut chutney
