This sundal is made generally on Saraswati pooja day i.e the 9th day of Navratri and is given as prasad for ladies who come for haldi kumkum along with a sweet prasad.

Ingredients
1 cup Chickpeas
Salt, to taste
3 tbsp Fresh grated coconut
For the spice powder
1 tsp Oil
1 tbsp Coriander seeds
3 Red chillies
1 tsp Hing
For tempering
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2 Red chillies
4 Curry leaves
1 tsp Turmeric powder
Instructions
For the spice powder
In a small pan add all the ingredients for spice powder and saute it well till the coriander leaves become light brown, grind this into a powder and keep aside
For the sundal
Soak chickpeas overnight after washing it well
Cook it with 5-6 whistles in a pressure cooker and then drain the water from the peas
In a pan take oil and splutter mustard seeds
Add red chillies, curry leaves and turmeric powder
Add the drained peas and cook for a minute
Add salt and the spice powder and mix well, saute for a minute
Add grated coconut and saute for another minute and switch off the flame.
Notes
You can use this spice powder for some subzis as well.
