This is a very easy chivda that I had tried for Diwali last year. I have been waiting to try this for a long time now and used Diwali as the pretext last year. This is the siful version of deep frying the cornflakes but you can use the low fat unfried version of buying unsweetened cornflakes and sauteeing it.
Cook Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
4 cups Cornflakes
1/2 cup peanuts
1/4 cup Roasted gram dal
1/4 cup Raisins
2 tbsp Ghee
salt to taste
1 tsp Sugar
5-7 Curry leaves
1 tbsp Chaat masala
1 tsp Chilli powder
Oil as needed
Instructions
In a pan take 1 tbsp oil, roast peanuts, roasted gram dal, curry leaves and raisins adding them one by one as per the time needed to roast them
Add chilli powder, salt and sugar and mix well
In another pan take oil and deep fry the raw cornflakes in batches on low flame till it becomes crispy and remove on tissue paper to remove the excess oil
Add the roasted peanut mixture to the cornflakes and add chaat masala. Roast on sim flame for another 2-3 mins till the cornflakes get coated well.
