This is a very simple recipe. Apple-cinnamon combo is a deadly international combo and you will love this cake with both these flavours!
Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins
Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cups Maida
1/2 cup Powdered sugar
A pinch of Salt
1/3 cup Butter
2 Fresh apple puree
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tbsp Vinegar
1/2 cup Milk
1 tsp Cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp Vanilla essence (optional)
Almond shavings, for garnish
Instructions
In a wide mixing bowl, add sugar and butter and cream well
Add the apple puree, vinegar and essence. Mix and beat well.
In another bowl, take maida, salt, soda, baking powder, cinnamon powder and whisk well
Add this in 2 batches to the wet mixture and fold in, mixing it well
Grease a cake mould and add the batter into the tin
Garnish fully with almond shavings
Bake this at 180 degrees C for 25-30 minutes or till the sides turn brown, keeping a watch
Slice when completely cool
Notes
You can skip the cinnamon powder and add only vanilla essence but I always felt apples are not generally very aromatic
If you are adding cinnamon powder, I prefer not adding vanilla essence
You can reduce the quantity of sugar of the apples are sweet
I add 1/2 a grated apple as well to the batter, so it was super soft with small pieces coming in midst of a bite
