These are my version of cinnabons. Super tasty and a little unhealthy :) Lengthy recipe, a bit of hard work but worth it.
Prep Time: 3 hrs
Cook Time: 25 mins
Ingredients
1 cup maida
1 cup Wheat flour
1/4 cup Butter
a pinch salt
2 tbsp Powdered sugar
1/2 cup Milk
1 tsp Yeast
Chocolate sauce for drizzling
For the Cinnamon mixture
2 tbsp Cinnamon powder
1/4 cup Brown sugar
Instructions
In a cup, warm milk, dissolve sugar and add yeast. Leave it aside to froth up.
In a mixing bowl add the flours, butter salt and start putting the yeast mixture and start kneading
Knead for 5-10 mins till it forms a soft firm
Grease the dough with oil and keep aside covered for an hour or two to double
Make a powder of cinnamon and sugar, sieve it to a fine powder
The dough would have doubled, punch the dough and knead again for 5 mins
Roll this into a long square
Apply little butter on the bread
Sprinkle the cinnamon powder all over, slightly press it
Drizzle chocolate sauce
Start rolling the dough tightly till the end and seal it at the end and on the sides
Cut it into 2 inch pieces
Place them individually on a greased muffin tray or on a baking tray with the rolled portion facing up
Keep covered for 45 mins (you will see that it has further doubled)
Apply milk on top of these rolls and bake them for 20 mins or till the sides turn brown in a 180- degree preheated oven
Drizzle chocolate sauce over it when it is warm and enjoy
Notes
Variation: instead of cinnamon and sugar, crumble black forest cake and spread it in the rolled dough, follow the rest.
