Gobi, Moong Vadis and Peas Medley

Moong Dal Vadis are a small sun dried paste of moong dal and a North Indian speciality. This subzi is very tasty due to the crispiness of these vadis!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cauliflower cut into florets

  • 2 Onions, finely chopped

  • 1 and 1/2 Tomatoes, finely chopped

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp pav bhaji or garam masala

  • 1/4 cup Moong dal vadis

  • 1/4 cup Green peas

  • 2 tbsp Oil

  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

  • Finely chopped coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soak the cauliflower in a hot boiling water with salt and turmeric

  2. In a pan take oil, splutter cumin seeds and add turmeric powder

  3. Add the onions and saute till it becomes light brown

  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, salt and sauté till it is combined well

  5. Cook the cauliflower, peas and vadis sprinkling by some water and covering with a lid

  6. Once cooked, add chilli powder, pav bhaji/garam masala and mix well

  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

  8. Serve hot with phulkas and dal
