Jeera (Cumin) Biscuits

This is a cookie topped with roasted cumin seeds. Tastes yummy with your evening tea or coffee!


Prep Time: 10 mins

Cook Time: 20 mins



Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 2 tbsps Maida

  • Salt, to taste

  • 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar

  • 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp Roasted Cumin seeds

  • 1/2 cup Butter

  • 1-2 tbsps as needed Milk

Instructions

  1. Dry roast 1 + 1 tbsp jeera and crush 1 tbsp coarsely, keep 1 tbsp aside to use later

  2. Whisk butter and sugar till light and airy

  3. Mix maida, salt & crushed jeera

  4. Add the maida to the butter-sugar mixture and mix gently

  5. Add milk and make a soft dough

  6. Refrigerate this dough in the fridge for an hour

  7. Place the dough in between 2 butter papers and roll it into a 1/4″ thickness

  8. Sprinkle the whole roasted jeera and press slightly

  9. Cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter

  10. Line them on a greased baking tray and sprinkle some cumin seeds on top

  11. Bake them at 180 degrees C preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or till the bottom and sides turn light brown
