Jeera Rice

Who has not heard of this simple yet gorgeous rice variety. Very easy to make and best had with dal makhni.


Cook Time: 20 mins


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Jeera rice

  • Salt to taste

  • 3 tbsp Cumin seeds

  • 3 tbsp Ghee

  • 2 Bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice for 15 mins

  2. In a pressure cooker, add ghee and splutter bay leaves

  3. Add in the cumin seeds and saute till it becomes pink and well roasted

  4. Add the drained rice and saute for 5 mins

  5. Add 1 and 1/2 cups of water, salt and cook for 1 whistle

  6. Serve hot, best served with dal makhni
