As the name suggests, there are a whole lot of ingredients in this roti. Like I have mentioned in one of my posts, thalipeeth is a thick paratha made by Maharashtrians for breakfast. It is loaded with spices and millet flours. This roti in addition to the above, has finely chopped fresh methi leaves which enhances the flavour to another level. This can be had as breakfast or even for dinner.
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
1 cup Finely chopped methi leaves
1 Finely chopped onions
4 Finely chopped green chillies
1/2 cup Jowar flour
1/2 cup Ragi flour
1/2 cup Besan
1 tsp Chilli powder
1 tbsp Turmeric powder
salt to taste
1 tsp Coriander cumin powder
Oil to cook
Instructions
In a wide mixing vessel, add the flours, salt, chilli powder, coriander cumin powder, salt, turmeric powder and whisk well
Add the onions, green chillies, methi leaves and mix well
Add lukewarm water and form a pliable dough
Make equal sized balls and keep it covered
Take a butter paper or plastic sheet and grease it
Place a ball in the middle and start patting it to form a thick paratha
Make 3 holes spread out (this is for cooking as well since this will be a little thick)
Place this on to a pan, spray olive oil and cook on one side for 4-5 mins till it turns light brown and gets well cooked
Turn and cook the other side
Serve hot with white butter and masala chai
In this pics I havent added methi, this was plain thalipeeth which I had tried for the first time
