Methi Parathas (Teplas)

This is a paratha made by Gujjus, very tasty and healthy as well. Since yogurt is added, it is perishable and tends to get spoilt so it needs to be consumed in a day. You can keep this for longer without adding yogurt, in fact I carry a lot of Teplas when I go on holidays.





Prep Time: 30 mins

Cook Time: 30 mins


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Finely chopped methi leaves

  • 1 & 1/2 cups Wheat flour

  • 3 tbsp Green chillies – ginger paste

  • salt to taste

  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1 tbsp + 1 tbsp Oil

  • 2 tbsps Curd

  • 1 tsp Hing

  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients, 1 tbsp oil and mix well

  2. Add very little water and knead to a smooth but firm dough

  3. Smear oil and knead once more, keep it covered for half hour

  4. Take a large peda and roll it into a thick paratha

  5. Cook this on both sides with little oil till it gets cooked
