I love besan ladoos but never had the courage to try it as I heard it does not always come out perfect, when sauteed on low flame. Also we do not generally make besan ladoos for Diwali, so I never thought of taking the trouble to try and test this recipe. This was till I found an easy recipe from Micky Singh, a food blogger on Facebook. Trust me if you follow the exact proportion and method as below, you can never go wrong with this sweet. The secret is to use the same cup for all the ingredients. Cook Time: 45 mins
Ingredients
2 cups Besan
1/2 cup Ghee
2/3 cup Powdered sugar
1 tbsp Semolina
1/4 cup Slivered almonds
1 tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions
In a microwave safe bowl, add the ghee and microwave it for 1 minute
Add the besan and semolina and mix it well
Microwave it for 2 minutes and mix well (you can see that the mixture will start getting drier)
Microwave it for a total of 4 mins, taking out after every minute and stirring it well
By now, it will resemble a dark mustard mixture (feel free to microwave for another 30 seconds if needed but do not burn it). Let it cool.
Add the sugar, sliced almonds and cardamom powder and mix well
Make laddoos out of it
Garnish with a sliced pista if needed.
Notes
Make sure to use the same cup for the measurements
Be careful when you are roasting the besan in the microwave, even a few seconds can burn it
