This is called gunpowder as known by most people. This is mixed with sesame oil and can be eaten with idlis or dosas. This can also be used as a curry powder for some veggies or mixed rice.
Cook Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
20 Kashmiri red chillies
1/4 cup Sesame seeds
1/2 cup Urad dal
1/3 cup Chana dal
2 tsps Hing
Salt, to taste
1 tsp Powdered Jaggery
2 tsps sesame oil
Instructions
In a pan take 1 tsp oil and roast the red chillies till well roasted, keep aside
In the same pan take oil and roast chana dal, urad dal and sesame seeds one by one
Once cool add these in a blender with jaggery and salt
When serving mix this with sesame oil and have with idlis or dosas

This can be added to many other dishes. I make cabbage or carrot rice with this. I also sometimes add this for potato or arbi roast.
