This is a one pot meal and can be had with papad and/or raita. This recipe is very healthy because of the palak and green moong dal in it, which is full of proteins.

Ingredients
1/4 cup Plain Rice
1/4 cup Split green moong
1 bunch Palak leaves
1 tsp Chilli powder
1/4 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp + 1 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 Finely chopped onions
1 Finely chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp Oil
3 Red chillies
Salt to taste
Instructions
Put the Palak leaves in boiling water for 10 mins, then soak it in cold water to retain the colour. Puree this after soaking.
Soak the rice and dal for half an hour and then drain
In a pressure cooker cook the dal and rice with 2 cups of water for 4-5 whistles, mashing the rice and dal mixture once cool
In a pan take oil and 1 tbsp ghee and add cumin seeds
Add red chillies, ginger garlic paste and saute till light brown
Add the finely chopped onions and saute till the raw smell goes
Add the tomatoes and saute till mushy
Add salt, chilli powder, cumin powder and saute for a minute
Add the palak puree and saute till the raw smell goes away
Add the cooked rice and mix well till well blended (you can add hot water if you think the kichdi is thick)
Top and garnish with a tbsp of ghee before serving
