Poha Cutlets

This is a very tasty cutlet, different from the regular potato cutlet. The main ingredient in a cutlet or a tikki is always potato but this one is loaded with a lot more healthy ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Poha or puffed rice

  • 2 Boiled mashed potatoes

  • Salt, to taste

  • 6 Finely chopped green chillies

  • 1 tbsp Grated ginger

  • 1/4 cup Finely chopped coriander leaves

  • 1/2 cup Blanched spinach chopped

  • 1/2 cup Grated carrots

  • 1/2 cup Grated paneer

  • 1/4 cup Roasted and coarsely powdered peanuts

  • 1/4 cup Bread crumbs

  • 1 Lemon juice

  • 2 tsps Garam masala

  • Chaat masala, for garnish

  • 1 tsp Amchur powder

  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the poha in 1 cup water for an hour. It will swell.

  2. Squeeze the poha well till all the water is squeezed and add it to a large mixing bowl

  3. Add all the other ingredients except oil and mix it mashing it well

  4. Make oblong shaped cutlets and keep

  5. In a non stick pan add oil and saute them for 15-20 mins on each side till it becomes crisp

  6. Sprinkle chaat masala over hot cutlets

  7. Serve hot with chutney of your choice or plain tomato ketchup
