Raw Banana Crumble

This is my mom’s specialty dish. This is a South Indian veggie, extremely easy to make and is best eaten with sambhar or rasam rice.


Cook Time: 20 mins




Ingredients

  • 2 Raw banana (the fat variety)

  • Salt, to taste

Roast and grind to a powder

  • 4 Red chillies

  • 4 tbsp Urad dal

  • 1 tsp Hing

  • 1 tsp Ghee

Instructions

  1. Cut the raw banana into slabs and cook it with the skin in water on an open flame (approx 10 minutes to get cooked, the indication is the skin will become black). Make sure you do not overcook the banana.

  2. Once cooled, remove the skin and grate the banana. Keep it aside in a wide vessel.

  3. Add salt, the spice powder and mix well

  4. This is served best with hot rasam rice
