Roasted Gram Dal Ladoos

My daughter loved these ladoos when my mom made them and would eat 2-3 at a time. These are very tasty no doubt and are one of the first sweets I make every Diwali. These are made with roasted gram dal also called chutney dal.


Cook Time: 1 hr


Ingredients

  • 250 gms Roasted gram dal

  • 350 gms Powdered sugar

  • 3/4 cup Broken cashew nuts

  • 1 cup Ghee (or as needed)

Instructions

  1. Heat the gram dal for 5 mins in a pan, powder it to a fine coarse powder

  2. Mix in the powdered sugar and incorporate it well

  3. Heat 1 cup of ghee and add the chopped cashew nuts and saute till it becomes light brown

  4. Add this to the dal-sugar mixture and make laddoos whilst still warm

  5. Keep adding more ghee if the mixture is dry and you are not able to make laddoos, however, make sure to add hot ghee
