Thalipeeth is a pancake popular in Western India, particularly Maharashtra. Generally thalipeeth is made with multigrain flour called bajani and seasoned with different spices. In this recipe I used the mixture we generally use in sabudana vadas and made it like a pancake. Very filling and can be had as a breakfast or a snack.
Prep Time: 6 hrs 15 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
1 cup Sabudana or sago seeds
2 Boiled potatoes
Salt to taste
1/4 cup Roasted peanuts
1 Grated ginger
5-6 Finely chopped green chillies
3 tbsp Finely chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tbsp Oil
Instructions
Wash sabudana well in water and soak it overnight in water (note that water level should be only till the sabudana)
Fluff the sabudana with a fork. It will look cooked (if it is a little sticky, that is okay)
Mash the potatoes
Grind the peanuts to a coarse powder
Mix all the ingredients including oil in a wide vessel
Sprinkle water if the mixture is dry
Take a plastic sheet and coat it with water
Take a cricket ball sized of the mixture and pat it with your palms into a small puri
Put this puri in a pan coated with oil and cook on both sides till it becomes brown
Serve this hot with chutney or curd
