This is a typical Maharashtrian sweet dish similar to Puranpoli but the filling is semolina sheera.

Ingredients
For the outer dough
1 cup Maida
1/2 cup Wheat flour
A pinch of Salt
4 tbsp oil
Water and milk in 50:50, to make the dough
For the filling
1/2 cup Semolina
3 tbsp Ghee
3/4 cup Sugar
1 cup Hot water
1 tsp Cardamom powder
3 Saffron
Ghee, for cooking the polis
Instructions
For the dough
In a wide pan mix the wheat flour and maida and add salt
Add 2 tbsp oil and rub the mixtures
Add water and milk and knead a loose dough like chapathi dough
Smear 2 tbsp oil and knead once again. Keep covered aside for half an hour.
Make lemon sized balls with this dough
For the filling
In a non stick pan add the ghee
Add the rawa and roast till it becomes light brown
Add hot water and mix well, add the saffron
Add the sugar and saute well till it becomes a thick sheera
Add cardamom powder, keep aside to cool and make lemon sized balls
To make polis
Take a ball of the outer covering and make a small cup of puri
Fill in a ball of the filling and seal it well
Dust it in flour and roll into a paratha
Cook on both sides like a paratha and add ghee
Serve hot topped with ghee
