This is a Maharashtrian no cook dish that can be had with hot steamed rice or can be had as an appetizer or soup. Depending on whether you are like it as a soup or with rice, you can adjust the thickness. I have mentioned more about this in the recipe card.

Prep Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 Fresh grated coconut

  • 3 Green chillies

  • 2 Garlic pods

  • 7 Kokam leaves

  • Finely chopped coriander leaves, for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Grind the grated coconut, green chillies and garlic with 1/4 cup water

  2. Remove the milk from the mixture and keep aside

  3. Squeeze the kokam to remove the pulp and sieve the juice

  4. Mix this kokam juice with the coconut milk mixture

  5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves

  6. Have this with plain steamed rice

Notes

  • If you want to have it as an appetizer, then after step 2, repeat grinding it once again with less than 1/4 cup water.

  • Remove the second milk and mix with the first milk, sieve the milk and then follow the rest of the steps.
