Spinach and Chickpeas Pulao

Prep Time: 8 hrs Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Chickpeas

  • 2 cups Finely chopped palak leaves

  • Salt to taste

  • 5 Finely chopped green chillies

  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 2 Sliced onions

  • 1 tsp Chilli powder

  • 2 tsps Garam masala

  • 4 tbsp Ghee

  • 1.5 cups Basmati rice

  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

Instructions

  1. Soak the basmati rice for half hour

  2. Soak the chickpeas overnight and cook it for 4-5 whistles

  3. In a pan take ghee and splutter cumin seeds. Add turmeric powder

  4. Add the sliced onions, ginger garlic and saute till light brown

  5. Add the chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt and saute for another minute

  6. Add spinach leaves and soaked drained rice and saute for 5 mins

  7. Add the chickpeas and 2.5 cups of water and cook for a whistle
