Tomato Peanut Chutney

An easy accompaniment for any South Indian breakfast


Cook Time: 30 mins


Ingredients

  • 1 Tomato, roughly chopped

  • 12/ cup Peanuts

  • 4 Red chillies

  • 1 Garlic (optional)

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1 tsp + 1 tsp Oil

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

  • 3 Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. In a pan take 1 tsp oil and add garlic, saute till it becomes light brown and the raw smell of the garlic goes away

  2. Add the red chillies and peanuts and roast well

  3. Add the tomatoes and roast till mushy

  4. Switch off the gas and once cool grind this along with salt

  5. In a pan take oil and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves, add this to the chutney
