This kheer is a very old and common recipe but very tasty! I did a variation of adding sago to this kheer once and that was really tasty as well. i have also put pictures of the kheer when I made it in the instant pot
Cook Time: 45 mins
Ingredients
1/4 cup Thick variety vermicelli
1 litre Full cream milk
1/2 cup Sugar
1 tsp Cardamom powder
4 tbsp Broken cashew nuts and raisins
1 tbsp Ghee
2 strands saffron (optional)
Instructions
In a pan take ghee and roast vermicelli till it becomes brown
In another non stick heavy bottom pan, take milk and start boiling for 10 minutes
Add the roasted vermicelli and boil till it gets cooked
Add the sugar and mix well, cook for another 2 mins. If you are adding saffron do it now and switch off the flame.
Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
In a pan, take ghee and roast the cashew nuts and raisins and add this to the kheer
