Wheat flour & Gond Ladoos

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

This is a healthier version of the normal wheat laddoos. Aside from the ghee and sugar, it has healthy ingredients like lotus seeds (makhana) and gondh (edible gum).

Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups Wheat flour

  • 1 & 1/4 cups Powdered sugar

  • 10 tbsp ghee + as needed for roasting other ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Cashew nuts

  • 3 tbsp Almonds

  • 3 tbsp pistachios

  • 1/3 cup Edible gum

  • 1 cup Makhana

  • 3 tbsp Dessicated coconut

  • 2 tbsp Ginger powder

  • 1 tbsp nutmeg powder

  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. In a pan take 1 tbsp ghee and roast the edible gum till it bloats and becomes crispy. (make sure you do it on low flame as it may feel bloated but maybe hard inside), keep aside in a plate

  2. Once cool crush it to make it to a coarse powder with the back of a cup, keep this in a plate

  3. In the same pan take a little ghee and roast almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts till light brown. Cool and pulse it in the mixie to a very coarse mixture, mix this to the gond powder.

  4. Roast makhana in 1 tsp ghee. Similarly cool and make a very coarse powder in the pulse mode, mix this also to the gond-dry fruit mixture

  5. Roast the dessicated coconut and add this to all the above mixture.

  6. Add powdered sugar, ginger powder, nutmeg powder, cardamom powder and mix well

  7. In the same pan add 10 tbsps of the ghee and roast the wheat flour till you get a nice brown roasted wheat flour (by now the wheat flour would have soaked all the ghee and it will be a little wet resembling a paste)

  8. Once the wheat flour mixture is cool, add all the other powdered mixture and mix well (if you think its dry you can heat a little ghee and add)

  9. Make laddoos out of this mixture
